The Next Generation Leads: Youth Changemakers Emerge From Rural Ghana

Through mentorship, civic engagement workshops, and leadership camps, a new cohort of young Ghanaians is stepping into roles that will shape their communities for decades.

A 12-Month Leadership Pipeline

The Youth Leadership Pipeline welcomes young people ages 16–25 from Foundation partner communities who show leadership potential and a commitment to service. Applicants submit a short essay on a community challenge they want to address and a recommendation from a teacher, community leader, or faith leader, then commit to a full 12 months in the program.

Mentorship That Matters

Each participant is paired with a professional mentor — a Ghanaian or diaspora leader in education, business, healthcare, or public service — for monthly one-on-one guidance and career coaching that most rural youth would otherwise never have access to.

Projects With Real Community Impact

Every cohort designs and executes its own community impact project — from organizing a community health fair to building a school library — applying leadership training in a real, local context rather than a classroom exercise.

Six Cohorts and Counting

Since launching, the program has trained more than 250 youth, produced 18+ active community ambassadors, completed 12+ community projects, and graduated 6 full cohorts — each one a small army of changemakers returning to their own communities.
